This image is part of a project titled “On my way Home.” The project is a handmade book (photos of it to come) with a series of images that document what I came across when I was, quite literally, on my way home and had my camera on hand. This specific title was not just fitting because of the literal description of what the project is, but it also had very much to do with the figurative sense of my own journey. I was getting over a bit of a rough patch at the time and the book is divided into appropriately titled chapters that reflect the things I learned along the way. View Larger

An Exploration: West Lawn / Midway →

Here’s a preview of the book for the documentary project I’m working on. I used Blurb and the format is 12X12 hardcover with a dust jacket. I made over 80 images for this project but after editing and finding a beat and flow for the project sequence, the total number of images included in the book was trimmed down to 27. The section of the images is titled “Explore” to kind of put the viewer into the mindset I was in when I went out and found these things in the West Lawn and Midway neighborhoods.  In the index section titled “Discover” I present thumbnails and give the locations of where I took those images.

I’ll probably give a little more info on the editing and sequencing part of the project a little later. I’ll also keep posting images that were part of the project but didn’t make it into the book.
